Gary McCausland

Gary John McCausland is an international property, investment, and development executive with more than three decades of experience spanning corporate real estate, cross-border development, investment, entrepreneurship, media, and academia.

A Chartered Property Surveyor (RICS) and qualified Management Accountant (CIMA), Mr. McCausland began his career in the international corporate sector, holding senior positions with Cable & Wireless, MCI WorldCom, and the Carlyle Group. His roles included Property Manager, International Property Director, and International Property & Sales Director, giving him extensive experience operating across complex commercial environments and international markets.

He is Founder and CEO of the Richland Group, a Belfast- and London-based property development and investment company established in 2001. Over the past two decades, the Group has developed more than £250 million in property projects and has been involved in major development initiatives across markets including London, Paris, and Belfast. He is also CEO and Co-founder of Hubflow and Cityflex, businesses focused on flexible and serviced workspace solutions for SMEs and corporate clients in Belfast and London.

Beyond his commercial work, Mr. McCausland has developed a significant international media profile. He has presented prime-time property programs for BBC1, Channel Five, and Discovery Channel, with programming reaching audiences across 115 countries. He has also served as a member of the Sky News Money Panel and appeared as an expert commentator across major international news platforms including CNN, BBC World News, Bloomberg, Sky News, Newsnight, Channel 4 News, and BBC Breakfast.

His broader institutional engagement includes investment in early-stage businesses through HALO, support for charitable organizations, and service as a former Director on the Foundation Board of Ulster University. He also serves as Visiting Professor of Real Estate at Ulster University, contributing his practical experience to the development of future leaders in property and investment.
